My wife really wants a Mandarin in her 50+20 - is there a way to transfer them from this little nuvo?

Never to salty, Just don't go over 35.
You can get bottles of pods at the fish store to put into a tank that can help feed mandarins and help the growth of pods. You could put a bottle into the tank and give it about a month to grow more pods and then look into a mandarin.
