Uhm, I think I have a lot of pods. Is that what these are? This is the "sin bin". Main display is covered up with them as well. Is there a potential downside to this? Like maybe ammonia spike after die off?

No they are good for your system. Their population will self regulate based on availability of food. Dose phytoplankton to feed them.

If your tank is new, this is normal and numbers will normalize.

If not a new tank… may be a change that they are liking aka food.
