I just bought a pokerstar monitpora and put it high in my tank. Is this proper placement? I put it here because I figured monti's like high flow and high light. Do I risk bleaching it if I put it here? All of the polyps are completely out and it looks extremely happy. Should I keep it here or move it to the bottom? LFS recommended putting it at the bottom and slowly move it up, but if its happy should I leave it or do you think it will bleach?

Just placing it is a bad habbit start at the bottom and move up... Doing what you did you run a risk of it bleeching of being hit with to much light akableeching/dieing.

I started mine low and moved up. Now it is very high up and directly under a 39w Blue plus I am using for actinic supplementation. Doing fine, but you will have to find a good place by starting low and moving to a better spot based on polyp extension and color. oh, and moderate- high flow

Yup, always start on the sand bed and move it up gradually. Most encrusting montis, IME, like high light and high flow.

If the polyp extension is completely and fully expanded where it is, do I really need to move it?
