Recently, I’ve noticed that my aquarium looks far better when I’m wearing sunglasses. These aren’t blue blocking orange lens glasses, just regular polarized sunglasses.

im inclined to think that this is due to the scattering of light coming from my LED (probably true with any light), and wild refraction as the light bounces around the tank.

has anyone tried to apply a (transparent?) polarized film to the surface of their tank to reduce light scatter and improve viewing?

my wife is making fun of me for wearing sunglasses inside to look at my fish!

I noticed this with sunglasses the other day as well lol, very interesting

I found some old threads where people were crucified for suggesting an orange film to filter out blue light. sort of interesting that anti-blue light people were also offended by the idea of filtering out the blue light and keeping other wavelengths.

Nobody seems to be polarizing the glass though. I know next to nothing about optics. I hope someone with expertise in this area will weigh in!

I noticed the same thing and decided to try to do something about it. I did find this window film that does exactly what it's supposed to do it filters out the blue light here are pictures
