I kinda want to change my answer. I still love the tangs in my first post. But now that I’m going to have a big tank...I’ve found I love blonde naso tangs. They look like they’ve dyed their hair blond and then got a Mohawk.

(Stuff like this is probably why I’m so good a working with kids and kids on the spectrum. Anthropomorphizing a tang to have a Mohawk LOL)

As far as looks go for us it was the purple tang. Gem tangs are pretty sweet looking too.

We just bought this purple tang a week ago! I can sit and watch him zoom around the tank all night.

yellow tang is definitely my favorite but if only the prices didn't spike.

Pretty uncommon in the hobby due to their max size (20” ish) but I saw these in a shark lagoon at a public aquarium when I was little and fell in love

Sohal hands down favorite but always have some kind of bristletooth in my tanks

Square tail bristletooth tang, tomini, and lavendar tangs all have my heart. Pretty sure I’ll go with some bristletooth & captive bred yellows for my next tank though. The Lavendar tangs are amazing but I’m worried my tank wouldn’t be big enough. (6’ x 2’ x 20”)
