and then if you wouldnt mind list the reason for the option you chose, I have been going back and forth on this idea for the last week. the biocube has not been set up yet so I figured I would give this thread a few days, and allow myself time to further debate the idea.

Also should have mentioned that I have all the parts to put this sump on, I would have to redo my sump a little, it has a tendancy to get cyano patches on the filter sock so it would take just a little bit more planning to hopefully solve this problem, sump layout would be 2 chambers, overflow in chamber 3 on biocube and a small fuge in chamber 2. the sump would be for different equiptment, that I cannot fit in the back of the tank, and it will add about 6-7 more gallons to the total water volume.

I vote yes I did on mine and love it I converted it to a refugium though, I have a Esshops rs-75 in my cabinet with my Tunze 9002 skimmer and chaeto under a 5000k par 30 led and My Nitrates are always 0. and plus you can have a filter sock to polish the water, or you can place frags in it there are tons of reason why it is a good idea and only a couple why not to.

I agree whole heartedly, but feel as though the more parts there are the more that can go wrong, I have a tank that I tried to have maximum filtration on it and is just a load of problems, so I am going back and forth trying to figure it out...

I voted no for the simple fact that this is an all in one type of tank setup. Its meant to be sleek and stylish without anything hanging off of it. You start hanging stuff off the sides and back and it will just look like another frag tank IMO.

The thing people say the most about my biocube is how its so simple looking, no wires or anything sticking out. It looks just like a nice piece of furniture.

I'm using the biocube skimmer in the first chamber and its running pretty darn well. I get half the collection cup filled with dark green skimmate every 3 or 4 days. I am using a 3w dual output airpump with an inline valve to adjust the air, and a normal coralife wood airstone in it. The skimmate is as good or better than what I was getting with a Tunze DOC 9002 on my old frag tank.

I say put it on a sump. I've thought about doint this to mine several times, but I would do it a little different. I would pull out the back chambers and put in a glass holes overflow kit. This would give you some extra room for livestock. Plus, if you have a sump there is no reason to have the back chambers anyway.
