I got out of the hobby for awhile when I came back LEDS where here to me the best then that had ever happened. I ran MH VHO T12 T5s all of them made my AC work harder Now most LEDS are not plug and play and maybe that's anther reason I like them.

I haven't seen anyone say they liked the look of LED over Mh/t5 or VHO. It boils down to cost of operation. For me, I think aestetics alone, mh-t5 is the real deal. Besides, I live in Texas where we run AC 11 months out of the year, so if I ever ran LED, I'd just have my heaters on longer

Very interesting see these numbers after 3 days.

This thread will not end anything. I see about 200-250 homes a month and 10-15 of them have marine tanks. Nearly all of them are lit with PetCo style PC or T5 fixtures that are very old... and if they are high end you might get an older VHO retrofit kit and sometimes a Aqueon LED light with 50 .25w LEDs in it (again from PetCo or Walmart). Strip/shop lights (T12, T8 or T5 NO) outnumber LEDs. These tanks usually have some softies thriving in abundance, some clowns, coral beauty, sometimes a lunare wrasse and the roll-up background taped to the tank. Even though all have some coral, none of them would ever go online to have a discussion or figure stuff out. In this random sampling I have never seen a home with a Radion, Kessil, Hydra and only have ever seen one with a ATI Fixture... you do see a very few MH mostly 175w Moguls since they have been around for decades and still work. The donations to the thrift store is a better indication of what is out there in the world, IME.

What is out there and the who comes online are two different things.

Besides, just read through the posts. It appears that most people prefer something that they are not using, or one reason, or another.
