Trying to get more experienced reefers view on this. My wife isn’t convinced a 36 gallon tank won’t require much more work than a 13.5 gallon tank. I find most of my time maintaining the tank is spent moving the corals around because it’s too crowded. So my hope/theory is that with more space I’ll spend less time fiddling with coral. Thus around the same or even less time.

I do the water changes at the same time. And blow out the rocks a couple times a week.

Basically the same time. Water changes may take slightly more time as you are removing more water, but other than that is should be the same. Test will be the same no matter the size, equipment maintenance should be the same. maybe a little extra time to clean the glass.

Depends on a few things too. Footprint is the big factor if you vacuum your sand each week. If it’s just taller won’t take much for.

I typically only siphon sand every other month. The plan is a fluval m 90. So roughly 3 times the footprint.

This is what I was suspecting.
