A while ago we featured a poll asking where your pH topped out on a daily basis. Thought it might be interesting to see where it bottoms out. I personally don't chase or actually worry about pH as mine tends to be pretty stable (8.1-8.3). But let's look at where others bottom out daily.

Just checked my apex. 7.9 to 8.04. Will start brs 2 part dosing soon so expecting it to go up. This is in a brand new house with my skimmer going to outside air.

My tank is in my garage and my pH bottoms out at 8.2. I have fans on the vents to circulate the air when the garage doors arent open.

I notice my ph changes when I have my nights lower over night. What causes this?

By lower you mean less intense?

pH changes are driven by changes in carbon dioxide in the water, and the biggest driver of that on a daily basis is photosynthesis consuming CO2 during the day (raising pH) and respiration producing CO2 all the time, including night (lowering pH).

Before I used a co2 scrubber and now currently a tube to outside air I had a really really low bottomed out ph at 7.66 at night. Now my lowest is at 7.81.

Changed my response. My Ph/temp pen needs recalibrating. grr....

I used to bottom out at 7.9 running biopellets. Running a reverse fuge now, I bottom out at 8.05.

I'm using API test so this time of day (5PM) at the intensity start ramming down until off time at 9PM and my PH is 8.2~8.4 and early morning right after light on at 6AM and PH is between 8.0~8.2
*The tank located in my room with window open 24/7 all year long included winter time.

I’m running a reverse light cycle fuge with dual CO2 scrubbers on my frac intake. Bottoms out at 8.15 normal high is 8.29. Before this my lowest was a constant 7.7 and highest 8.01. Apex graph always tells me when it’s time to replace co2 scrubber. House is less than 2 years custom built and I made sure they sealed it to help with my AC bills... now spending extra money on sodalime and fuge light.
