In my walk out basement. I can see my 6' tank, my nano, the tv and the pool from my chair.

In my living room. On the adjacent wall of the tv wall so when watching tv it's out of view. If I decide to turn 90 degrees I can see the tank.

Let me assure you. I am always turned towards the tank on when the wife wants to watch a movie. Lol

My Fw tank is in my bedroom, the reef is in the game room, frag system in the garage with AC, plant grow out system is in a intex pool outside.

Additional question to those who have their tank in the living room. Does your stand sit right on the carpet or do you have something underneath it? I've always wanted to move my tank to the living room, but always worried about it being direct on carpet. Thanks!\

They can sit on the carpet but my two tanks in the basement (which is carpeted) are sitting on two porcelain tile pads.

Mine is in my dining room by the table so I can eat and observe my tank.

I Like it in my bedroom, The moon light is nice for a nite light if I get up for a trip,, or should I say so I don't trip in the dark.
