I use a 4 bulb t5 fixture, two blue plus , I aqua blue special and one purple plus, I've been to a few lfs and they told me that it's normal to only have extension at night but I need more clarification, I have growth and I do see polyps at night but little to none when the lights are on !What lights are everyone using? I'm using Chinese black boxes
I was going to do led but I couldn't find a proper hanging fixture so I went t5, I was told they give better growth anyway ,my tank just doesn't have the pop !Same
Really?! I find t5 way cheaper !I went with led, simply for the price

I paid like 160 for the fixture ,I got it off eBay and just bought ATI bulbsMine where 89 a piece
My millie never has extension but it has grown, I don't get it why...Kessil led and 4x 4' ati t5 bulbs. Same here. Nighttime has great extension, daytime next to none, except one Millie that's always out.

I do have a flame but he doesn't bother any coral I feed often , my nutrient was way too high at one point and there was alge everywhere and the tank broke out in cyano eventually , I have since corrected the problem but I still don't have extensionWhat fish types do you house?
The Acropora look pale, have you considered increasing the nutrients to the tank?
My Acropora show active PE night and day. You have some smoother skin acropora that may not show as much PE but that millipora should show PE all the time.
Have you checked for Red Bugs?
Did you rule out water chemistry as the cause?
When I first got my millie it had plenty extension but not anymore and my other acro only at nightI have the same problem with a blue millie, never see the polyps out at all not even at night but it showing slow growth. My tricolor has beautiful green polyps during the day but not alot of extention til night time. My red planet, red Millie and green hulk Millie all have crazy hair going on. I am running radion xr30 g3 pro with my own modified sps ab+ schedule. I am looking to add t5 supplement lighting but that will be for another topic.
The pale looking acro is an ice fire ,it's just the lightingWhat fish types do you house?
