getting ready to do first water change on coralife 32 gallon reef

Im thinking of using Poly filter, chemipure(using that alone now) and Purigen in the 3 trays...chamber 2

any thoughts are appreciated....

I've used all three at once before in the media basket for my IM Nuvo 40. I've since dialed back to using just Chemi-pure blue all the time and poly filter only when I suspect there's a contaminant in the water. While there's definitely some overlap in what Purigen and Chemi-pure do (they both remove organics/impurities), Purigen's product description says it helps control ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, while Chemi-pure targets phosphates more. I stopped using Purigen I didn't notice a demonstrable change in my parameters or water clarity when I stopped using it. And even though I could replenish it, I'm not a fan of trying to bleach something and reuse it in my tank and I didn't want to pay for a new bag everything month or so. I like to replace my Chemi-pure Blue about once a month and only keep polyfilter on hand for emergencies when I feel like something has polluted the tank. Hope this helps!

I keep Poly Filter in my tank 24x7 but passively, not filtering water. If you have it in line in filtration it quickly gets overloaded by sediment. The point of this product is chemical filtration, which it does perfectly well passively. Much longer life this way.

I have used all 3. I find that chemipure blue and floss work the best in mine and my son's.
