Hey guys,
For a display tank, if you have no alternatives for capture/tank transfer method/or Hospital/Qt tank set up etc., would you recommend Poly labs medic for a mixed reef for treatment of ich? Where there are LPS, SPS, inverts/nems, and fish present?
Thanks!

I mean ive used it and no bad affects on a reef or inverts, whether it did anything is highly questionable however

Same here. I used it. No ill effects.

The tank had ick 100%. A copperband that was visibily sick with ick.

I was lucky to remove the copperband using a trick. At night I took a flashlight and net and briefly blinded the fish, and caught him.

Then I treated the copperband using TTM (in a QT), but the other fish DT never got ich.
I only did the PolypLab medic on the Tank. I never did removed fish and went fallow.

After completing the PolypLab medic, and completing the Copperband treatment, I put him back.
No other Fish got ich, and I've added Fish since that time. Copperband made it too.

I think the Medic did end the ICH in the Tank without going Fallow.

Thank you. I just noticed some spots on my puffer and some of the fish are scraping. It’s a 220g so catching anything is a nightmare and catching the 20 odd fish in there without dismantling the whole tank isn’t realistic. I just got it stabilized again after Dino’s and I’m hesitant to throw a new additive in so wanted to make sure it won’t destroy the inverts and corals if I try it. Thanks!

All the best.

Like you the only way I could remove ALL the fish was to tear apart the Rockscape that is fused together after many years.
I said no way, unless all dying. Even then.

There is no guarentee it will work, but like you I had no choice.
Make sure you Follow the Instructions 100%. I think many folks have failed doing the Treatment Sloppy.

However if there is a fish doing bad, to the point where ich has made it weak and easy to catch.
Try and Catch it and treat in a QT, maybe fresh water dip x2 (That should improve the odds in the tank treatment), or even save that Fish (Even if you put it back into DT when it clears up)

I was terrified doing my first Fresh Water Dip. 2nd time I was more relaxed. Never do it until you have the time and focus (No distractions).
If you do it right (Water/Temp, Air STone) it does actually work to save a fish or give it a 2nd chance)

Or hope that the PolypLab IN Tank Treatment actutually can treat a whole tank of fish, and then wipe out the Ich from rocks, substrate. ( I still find it hard to believe it works, but it did).

Remember ICH comes in waves, as it drops of fish and comes back in the cycles.

Yeah none of them are doing too poorly, just a few spots here and there and scraping against rocks but its def at least half the fish. If anyone goes downhill fast I will go through catching all of them and breaking down rock work and setting up a giant qt tank and do the fallow treatment and wait a few months and treat the fish with copper. But IMO the stress of doing that to fish that are not badly affected would result in losses and will be a huge undertaking. So, I ordered it, we'll see what it does. They are all fat and healthy and eating so they can probably shake it off without intervention, good diet and water changes- but that wont get it out of the tank. Id like to see if this product can get rid of it all together and avoid it worsening if possible before getting to that point.

I also used this NON-Medicated food. (with Extra Garlic)

However if your fish are eatting, don't change their diet since it might be a waste of money trying to change their appetitie for new food. (NOT all My fish wouldn't eat it since they are not used to Pellets)

You can do the same with your current foods by soaking in a Garlic Addtive.
I use this one when I do QT https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/4386/?pcatid=4386

Or any vitamin food additive. Ton's out there. Stay with Name brands.

All the best. Hope things work out.
