Hi all,

I have had flatworms in my tank since the beginning and apart from being ugly I have never seen anything wrong with them. I run a wrasse based tank (6 wrasses) plus an spotted dragonet so population tend to be under control, when I have a leave the house for 4 – 5 days I do not feed them and flatworms population decrease importantly.

A few of days ago I notices a large flatworm ½ inch app. It was on the flat side of a tricolor acropora for a couple of days. I noticed the polyp where not out and I blew it from the acro. A few days after, the polyps are nowhere to be seen and the surface of the acro looks abnormally smooth. It is almost like it eat the polyps, could that happened?

I checked the acro and there are no sings of bites on the tissue like the o es of the AEFW.

Pictures
You see where the FW pass in this pictures

This is another piece of tricolor with a couple of smaller flatworms on it.

What do you think. Should I worry about this FW?
I have several other acros and no one has been bothered. They tend to be in the mushroom, Duncan, candy and actinodiscus.

Your photos don't load. In my experience polyclads usually go after clams, snails things like that. That being said there are different species.

IME most larger polyclads prefer Euphyllia - mainly Torches. They're a pain to deal will and can be hard to get rid of. Do you have any Euphyllia? If so I would start by checking for eggs and start dipping. Also any FW you see present I would suck them up with a turkey baster or air line hose. Get out as many as you can.

Its possible they are. Can you suck them out and put them in a cup with a little tank water? Take a pic in normal daylight. This will help ID them better.
