Polyfil filter

For people using polyfil as a filter, how is it being used? Is it rinsed and placed in a media cup or placed or placed in a bag to stop the fibers from breaking lose and floating in the tank?

I put it in two filter cups and also in the sump section where the water enters. Cheap and easy

Just as a little extra insurance policy, try to rip it once--to the size you want, rather than multiple torn off small pieces; fewer fibers exposed to come loose and possibly get into your system.
