Polyp bail out

I received a polyp of acid reflux and two days later it let go of the the rock that was on the plug. I don't know where it is, but what would cause this?
I'm fighting to lower my alk and calcium
Alk 10.5
Calcium 480
Mag 1350
Nitrates 25 ( I know )
PH 8.1 day 7.9 night
Salinity 1.026

Being new if was fragged recently most likely just fell off and blown into rock work. Once closed up can be hard to spot. Suggest following the flow to try to track possible landing spots. Make waves with your hand to see if can kick it up so you can spot it.
