Polyp skirt extension...

I have been trying to find some reputable information on the matter but keep coming up short! It seems as if the same "water quality, flow, feed" deal keeps coming up.

There are some polyps in my tank that look a whole lot better with the longer skirts such as the "Joe's Crab Nebula" and just look plain jane without them.

Does anyone have any experience or information as to how the skirts on the polyps extend or contract!?

I think alot of it has to do with long term flow in a tank. if you have a ton of flow eventully you will have longer skirts

I have an mp40 blasting my devils armor, sunny ds, and a few other zoas on a rock randomly and they have longer tentacles on their skirts now then they did before when I was running Koralia power heads.
