Polyps growing on underside of montipora?

I tried to blur the first picture so you can see the polyps, is this normal? There are hundreds of these polyps growing underneath and I just noticed them today. I noticed one polyp on the edge of the monti a few days ago but now they are all over the bottom. Anyone know what this means?
