Polyps of some sort? They just started growing and spreading......

Any idea on the ID of these polyps? One day they just started growing and spreading. They even seem to be on the base of my mushroom leather.
Should I take efforts to control them?

I haven't had to deal with it but I read multiple forms of folks having success with Fenbendazole. If you decide to go this path, research well as some have reported loss or coral/inverts.
