Yesterday, I finished some woodwork in one of my basement rooms. I used oil based polyurethane and I am concerned that I may have contaminated the coral QT tank in the adjacent room. I did keep the door closed to the QT room, but that obviously cannot keep the fumes from spreading.
Today, the tank (15G) is cloudy and the salinity rises to about 1.028/29 within 8 hrs. Typically keep my SG at 1.026. Not sure if this is because of the fumes or something else. Corals are not doing well but they were not doing well prior to this, so it is hard to tell.
Would poly fumes cause cloudiness and salinity rises?...I would not think so but I am not sure what else could cause the problem.
Will do a WC once I get home tonight.
