Spotted my Pom Pom crab with a blob of orange on its body, looks like eggs to me. What do you guys think? Note his is the only Pom Pom crab in the tank.

Yes, it is a female and the "orange stain" under her belly are eggs, but if there is not a couple in the tank, most likely will not be fertile ... However, there are cases where yes; some crab females mate only once and store the male's sperm, releasing it over their eggs when they are ripe, and so even when there is no male around, they can produce fertile eggs.

Very interesting I didn’t know that! I’ve had her for a little over a month and she’s definitely my favorite invert. I guess we’ll see what happens.
