I've had a Pom Pom crab in the tank for well over a year. Even managed to handle several tank transfers through the rebuild process (hiding in rocks every time). It always came out when food hit the water and battled the hermits to grab a snack.
Recently I thought it had finally died & disappeared. Never saw it at feeding time anymore.
One night with a flashlight I thought I caught a glimpse between some rocks. Weeks go by and and still no daytime sightings at feeding time. Then one late night with a red flashlight I finally caught a good look of it out in the open, looking perfectly fine.
Anyone know if this is something that happens as they grow older?
One theory my wife proposed is that since I'm feeding the tank more lately it's just not as desperate to come out for food. Which makes sense actually.
Thoughts?
