Pom pom crab with BTA

Just sharing a photo. My pom pom crab lost his anemones. Yesterday I noticed a small piece of my nem was somehow cut off and on the rocks. Then later that night the crab has it. I hope it lives.

I have never seen that happen but I know they will pull the ap. pest anemones and use them.

I will never again stock any crabs in my tank. The only crabs I will do is small hermits.

I started with 1 emerald crab that was a star citizen. Never bothered any corals or fish. He would just clean everything and disappear into the rock rock . I liked him so much I went and got another.

The new guy kills the old crab, killed at least 1 fish. And went to town on my hammer.

Im not even sure If i want to keep hermits either . Lost 2 snails since I introduced hermits.

Ah, did more research on Pom Pom crabs. Good looking guys for sure! Just can’t trust crabs still lol. My cleaner shrimp is very cool but he is also a bit of a jerk. Always stealing food from my corals. Goes straight for my hammer as soon as I feed as the hammer is slow to get all the food in it’s mouth.

I think the pom pom crabs are very passive. I have two and I never see them bother anything. I have one emerald to that so far has been easy going.

I’ve always wanted to do a smaller tank with Pom Poms and sexy shrimp. They seem like they would get lost in a bigger tank. By that I mean I wouldn’t the able to easily find them.

Oh yes, they will get lost in a bigger tank. Mine gets lost in my 10 gallons and go weeks without seeing him even months.
