Pom Pom crab

I’ve had a Pom Pom crab that has done wonderful. I’ve had him over a year. I just removed some rocks and did a water change and found him In the bottom of the bucket. He shed his Pom Poms and they are floating around the tank. I don’t know what to do. I tried to place one in front of him but no luck. What happened???

It’ll survive w/o them and will most likely grab something else like a zoa. If you have more than one they will share nems

They take on to other small anemones, and even fuzzy mushrooms. They can survive without but they prefer anemone to carry

He found one of them has grabbed it again. The other is on a rock so

You can take a cup such as the one for Chinese take out and place over the crab with the pom for a few hours and he should spot it and grab it
