Pom Pom Crabs and their own tank ?

So my 9 year old is getting her first salt water tank for Easter. She wanted dwarf sea horses but I fear those are way to advanced for her being her first tank. So i am wondering if pom pom crabs can have their own tank 4 gallon and what should go in it for them and how many could be kept. However if anyone thinks this is still to advanced i am open to other ideas.

Pom pom crabs are usually quite shy. Mine only comes out at night. Maybe sexy shrimp and some feather dusters?

I put a pom pom in my sons tank about a year ago. The only thing I ever see is the occasional molt. Easy to care for otherwise. In that size tank though you could easily add a good variety of inverts. Like mentioned above Sexy shrimp would be great, maybe 3 or 5 of them. Or if you she likes them Fire shrimp are quite striking and every one I have ever seen is quite active and out in the open. In fact in my sons old 10 gal I had 2 sexy's, 1 fire, 1 pom pom, and a porcelain crab, anlong with a few hermits and snails. The feather dusters are also a nice idea.

I have one in my solana but as said earlier I only see him at night when I shine a light in the tank to look for him and then he goes back to hiding. Sexy shrimp are fun to watch or maybe a small pistol and goby pair.

I do hope you will reconsider. They will hide and hide well. I'd hate for her to be disappointed when she can't find them.
