POMA LABS Baby Conspicuous Angelfish

Yesterday I received my 3 inch baby Conspicuous from Poma Labs. Honestly, Poma Labs is the best for purchasing livestock. It was the an experience from start to finish. They walked me through the process and even sent me pictures of the actual fish before shipping.

It was like Christmas morning! I opened the perfectly packaged box to find a certificate of identify along with a perfect specimen. Matt, one of the partners of Poma Labs text me day of and checked in. He truly wanted to make sure I was happy and the fish arrived healthy.

Since technically these are tank raised fish they come disease free but it's still recommended to QT for observation and to establish stable feeding schedule.

I placed him in QT with my 1 1/2 inch Gem Tang from Live Aquaria DD. I always purchase my fish from DD since they pre QT their fish to ensure they are healthy and eating. However, Poma Labs knocked them out of the park. They only sell Angels so if you're looking go POMA! Plus the funds go towards continued research on captive bred fish.

I have to agree that buying from Poma Labs is a pleasure. The price is higher then wild caught fish but the captive breed quality is so obvious. My two Bluelines were eating within minutes and their fearless nature from being raised by humans makes a big difference in them wanting to eat anything offered between your fingers. Congratulations on your new angel.

If I could have anything Genicanthus personatus - Masked Angelfish would be my #1 choice. I used to have a pair of Masked Swallowtails Genicanthus semifasciatus which are more in my price range for big purchase fish. I used to be really into collecting wrasses, however longevity wise I find them harder to justify then a tang or an angel which should live quite a bit longer as long as you don't have any tank crashes.

How long have you had your conspics from Poma? How big were they when you got them? How big are they now?

The bigger one was born in April 2017, and she has been with me since December 2017. The smaller one was born in January 2018 and with me since October 2018. They were approximately 2 inches, and now, the larger one is around 4.5 inches.

Is anyone keeping their POMA conspics in a reef? If so, what have they nipped on?

SPS reef with some chalices, mushrooms, leathers. Nips here and there but enough to cause any damage or major issues.
