Pond for crystal red shrimp filtration

So I’m making a 400 gallon pond very heavily planted and I have a 1,200 gph pump for filtration I plan on putting 11/2” pvc to the intake and wrapping that around the pond and teeing off with 1/2” pipes to put sponge filters I was thinking 8 or so would this be enough to keep them from being sucked in? The return would be the same wrapped around the pond with slits In The pipes to make u uniform distribution around the pond in a lower flow manor
There will be nothing els involved as I’m using a kiddy pool atm and all the plants all I have is a pump moving water and it has 10 tilapia in it and is clean as can be...
I’ll be keeping the plants not the fish and adding the shrimp thick this would be safe for the babies?

I would not add shrimp to a pond with fish that can eat them I had 2 cherry shrimp in a breeder basket and my Betta jumped into it just to eat them

oh sorry yeah shrimp need very fine foam blocking filters to keep them safe, since the fish are not in the same pond I think they would be fine

i keep rcs and i would worry about temp, flow, ph, predators, and tds(from crap falling in) in a small kiddie pool outside as well as them just being impossible to find in a pond. breeding quality of shrimp would be meh as it would be hard to isolate nice shrimp. I would make lots of returns and spread out the intake a lot to distribute the flow. Prob more effort than its worth, but if you can keep all that stable then i dont see an issue.

a little confused if you were asking about wrapping the pipe around for intake or out though, intake might be an issue as you will need to use lots of valves to control flow or the closest couple holes will be pulling a lot of water, sponges over them small enough for the babies would block up too fast, a lot of babies, just due to volume should make it though.

It going to be in a sun room so nothing will get in it and the temperature should stay pretty stable Iv read about ppl in Canada keeping them in an out door pond and it freezing over and them being fine in the thaw I have also kept a small I heated planted 12 gallon in this sun room and kept shrimp in it with no issues I am more concerned with the filtration and mainly the suction and if any one has had experience with this type of situation

That’s what I was thinking I also thought if I just put all the tees close together like in a row on the opposite side of the return I can just make a large bank of them to reduce suction then I turn off the pump and replace a few of the sponges every week to keep them clean there will be very little feeding as there will be tons of plant life in the tank for them to feed so I’m not to concerned with them clogging to often

idk tough call, dont know anyone running a pond shrimp tank. might be easy to put the pump next to the wall and silicone in a piece of acrylic with overflow holes cut in it. put the pump behind the overflow and just stack up filter floss (polyfil) around the outflow pipe. Then hide the whole thing with a big rock or tile or whatever theme the tank was. Just a thought
