Just out of curiosity ...and knowledge is power :)

what are the signs of good and bad poo's ?
Now i know there are some out there that may have an idea now running through their heads....but i am talking about fish :)

white is bad... brown is good ---- generally of course.

Internal/intestinal parasites:

Symptoms - Internal parasites are also “worms,” but these target a fish’s intestines. As a result, the main symptom is white stringy poop. It has to be white; brown stringy poop, for example, can just mean intestinal irritation which requires no treatment.

Treatment options - API General Cure (a medication containing both praziquantel and metronidazole). Some species of internal worms are resistant to prazi, while others are resistant to metro, but usually not both. Seachem MetroPlex can be dosed directly in QT, or soaking fish food with it provides an alternative (and reef safe) treatment option. Two other available options are: Paracide-X (mixed in food) and Paracide-D (in-tank treatment).

from what I've seen, the female just has a long white strand.....no other colouration to it. not seen anything like it from the male but can't say I've seen him push a coil as yet :) the other fish make a right mess of things...goes everywhere and disperses quickly. the female is showing no abnormal behaviours and seems to be fit and well...eats fine and everything i put in there...fingers included :)

as i don't have a qt tank....what are my options?

having said this.....when i first got the clowns....within the first couple of weeks the female had a small grey circle just under the dorsal fin in the white stripe. i performed a fresh water dip and it disappeared wishing a day after that.

You can soak the food in Metroplex and Focus to bind it to the food. That's a reef safe option to help with it. It's not going to hurt them so it's worth a try.

This, combined with the white stringy poop, sounds like Hexamita aka "Hole in the Head Disease". It's slightly more serious than your garden variety intestinal worm. As @melypr1985 stated above, you can treat with metro in a QT or bind it to food using Seachem Focus.
