Pool filter sand vs live sand

Have you asked about local clubs here on R2R? The closest one to me is over an hour away. I obviously can't make all the events but I make enough to make friends lol

It was a Nevada group in R2R but it was no longer active. But I just found 1 on fb that's local. I appricate that advice.

The group I'm part of isn't really active here but very active on another forum. So yeah definitely look around and glad you found the FB group

Yea that's what I have been looking for but not having any luck. I'm going to Cali next week going to look on Craig's list and see if I can get lucky. And I'm still considering taking sand from the beach. I have read mixed reviews some say it's cool some say it's horrible so I'm still looking for info.

The problem there is that most beach sand is also silica-based, unless you're on a resort island near a reef...

All sand from SoCal beaches is silica based sand. That Marco Rock deal is a great deal for sand.

Did you get the sand from marty? That seemed like a good deal when I saw it on facebeast.

He's got a pretty sick drag tank as well.

Yea I did that was right on time. I was just about to give up on my diamond gobys. I'm going to aquascape this weekend and get the sand in so I can see about how much more I need.

It should be a good start. I run DSB and I have added sand to it without a major cycle but I washed the heck out of it before I added it and I only did a fraction of the entire system.
