Those look more like streamers than trails. Eitherway, it appears to be "normal" for this fish but I don't know what causes this elimination difficulty.
@Jay Hemdal may have a diagnosis, Lets put him on the trail of these streamers. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Same for @vetteguy53081 . thanks guys

I have a Juv emperor that had those for about 6-8 months. Good husbandry and food have usually cleared up stringy poop in fish in the past for me. Id reccomend feeding some frozen on occasion. There are also food soaks designed for large angels, typically containing vitamins and aminos that closely mimics what they get in the wild.
I think many times they are caused by an internal parasite of sorts, but its not often a death sentence ime, assuming the fish is eating.

Is it normal for this guy to have poop trails? He’s eating small marine pellets

The color of the feces is pretty good, but they are trailing more than I’d like to see.
What brand pellet are you feeding?
How long have you had the fish?
It looks pretty chunky, maybe cut back a bit on the food, or introduce more vegetable matter and some frozen brine shrimp?
