my Nem hasn’t been doing great but seemed like it would recover fine. Woke up this morning to this

How do you remove a nem...?

definitely not dying. but the few number of tentacles is a little worrying. is it getting enough light?

No, I don't think so. It parked itself there and did great for about a month. I went on vacation for a little over a week and came back and it looked awful. I had a glass lid and switched that out with a screen top in hopes it would help with light a little. I have been feeding it and trying to nurse it back. It's a 60G cube with a Hydra26 over it.

Here are my current settings on my light. If the anemone needs more light, should I bump the RY and B up, and maybe even the CW?

does it ever stretch out from its place in the shade out into the light? sometimes anemones perversely head into the shade - when they are clearly bleaching. some think it is an acclimation behavior to seek shade....i dunno. my advice on anemones is - don't change things (much or often or quickly). if other photosynthetic things in your tank are doing okay, i would suggest there is enough light for the nem to get by and you should let it be. if it is not getting any direct light on its own for a period of time, you may have to encourage it to move or relocate it to light.

Nothin to add really, just realized that this thread title in the Lounge forum would be realy funny.

@skyrne_isk yes it stretches out into the light almost always so that's why I was worried when it looked like that. But it's back to looking how it has been looking, not as good as when I got it but still better.

What is the temp of the tank is like? Change from glass to screen got to drop the temp some or a lot. How was the stability of the tank like while you are gone? Tank sitter over fed? Top off? Any supplements?
I think the tank was unstable when you are one in some (or a lot) fashion and stressed your anemone.
Good luck. BTA are fairy hardy and should recover.

You're right, the temp did drop, but only about 1 degree. It is normally at 78F and it dropped to 77.1F.

I have an ATO and am using KALK. I'm thinking you are right about it being unstable to some extent, I just don't know how. I tested ALK and Calcium before I left and when I got back and they were the same.

I didn't have fish in the tank while I was gone (were being quarantined) so I don't THINK it was overfed.....but that's the thing...who knows. It seems to be doing better everyday though. I'll keep periodic feedings and keeping an eye on it.
