What is the typical recovery time for popeye? I have a McCoskers wrasse that first developed bad popeye over 4 months ago. He was on deaths door, but after qt with a barrage of antibiotics he recovered, but his left eye never fully went back to normal. After he recovered a bit, i also did prazi and copper just in case it was caused by secondary infection. I think the initial cause was most likely trauma from jumping.

Is there anything else I can do? The eye still appears healthy (not cloudy or damaged), just bulging. He definitely has some vision issues, but is doing well otherwise. He now lives alone in my frag tank.

It may be permanently swollen if it was a really bad case of popeye. The trauma could have permanently damaged his eye.
I’ve had success treating popeye with kanamycin. So you can try that. Good luck!

It was a really bad case. I did a round of kanaplex, a round of erythromycin, a round of general cure, and fed food medicated with metroplex/focus once he started eating again.
This was how he looked May 4th

Oh wow. Lucky he survived. Good job keeping at it and not giving up!
If he’s eating fine and swimming fine and his eye hasn’t gotten worse, I personally wouldn’t put him through more treatment.
Also, I have no idea with what other medications you can treat him with because you’ve already used kanaplex, erythromycin, general cure, and metroplex. If there was an underlying infection or disease that led to his popeye it most likely is treated by now.
