so I had a chalk bass get Popeye. I read that it needed a Epsom salt bath. before I could get him the quarantine tank. he/she eye was ripped out of his skull. so I rushed to get him treatment. he/she been there three day two nights. also the bag that held his eye finally feel off. now he still hasn't eaten in three days. I set up the quarantine tank with aquarium water. did a 20% percent water change yesterday im suppose to do this everyday he/she is in there. quarantine tank has never cycled.

my question is. water quality is not right how long should I keep the fish in there? meds say a week or until I see improvement. (BIFURAN) is the meds.
is it better to return him back to the reef tank? is he safe from the fish that attacked him?
my girlfriend and I have decided to set up a small 30 gallon take for him but wont be ready for a few weeks. (fish only)

any good opinion would be great.
thanks fiends

I am sorry I just saw this. I hope you were able to save your fish. For any future emergencies you could keep a sponge in your sump to help quickly cycle a hospital tank. I use a hang on the back filter and place the sponge that has been in my sump for months to very quickly cycle a new tank. Again I am sorry no one replied to the previously.
