So I purchased a populargrow 165w full spectrum Wi-Fi light on eBay. For some reason I am having difficulty getting it to connect. I reached out to customer service and they aren't helpful at all. Does anyone have this light in particular? I have 2 other Wi-Fi lights that work fine. The other 2 I have go through the "smartcontroller for light" app and have no issues. This light goes through the "aquarium light" app that I had to download through the Chinese version of the Google Play store.

When I turn the light on and set it to Wi-Fi it does not show up in my Wi-Fi list like the others do. I open the app and there is nothing listed in the device list. I select the one-key configuration and type in my Wi-Fi password. It begins to search for devices and finds nothing?

Any suggestions??

Hi - did you solve this problem? I am in same situation. I thing that I need MAC adress of my light which I must allow in MAC adress filtering in my wifi router setup. But where I can find it... no idea...

Yeah. The light is a point of sale. I had to put my light directly next to my router for it to get picked up. If I moved the light 5-10ft away it wouldn't find the light.

Thanks fpr your reply. I don´t understand one think - OK, I will for a few minutes switch off a MAC adres filtering. But each device which want connect to my wifi router, I need set a pasword for my wifi router. How I can connect a light to wifi without a pasword enter possibility?

OK - my lights and connections to a wifi router and ipad is working. But - fans are still running, without any reaction on lighting power level/heat. Even all channels are on Zero, fans is running. And very loud - 40 decibels! I will probably accept that fans are without any regulation and I will probably change them for a two Noctua super silent fans.

165W after I changed a VERY loud fans for a two pefect Noctua fans:

I did eventually get it to work but it's a pain in the a**. First off, the light needs to be directly next to your router when you connect. Like 6in away. The Wi-Fi range on the light is horrible. Then you have to turn the light on, turn the switch to Wi-Fi, then hold down the resest button for like 30 seconds. Then try to search for it through the app. Took me quite a while of going through those steps before it finally worked.
