hey all
I decided to add a porcelain crab to my 10 gal rock nem breeding tank. Thought it would be a cool thing to watch.
He (I've decided it's a boy) is walking all over the biggest one and it looks irritated , only by human standards though. Not losing color or refusing food.
Will the nem finally give in and host or do some just not do it?
Also...I haven't hear of porcelain crabs harming any corals-have you?
I can't find anything in my searches. If anyone has good or bad experiences to share-please do!
Thanks :)

That's comforting. He's just hiding out under it at the moment
The reason I decided to get this one was he was being hosted at the lfs by a rock nem

I was going to get one of these but my nem just died. He didn't like my tank very much,

Oh sorry to hear that. That's why I like my rock nems. They love my 10 gallons. Tons of babies to prove it lol

It was just a stubborn anemone. Never ate what I fed it. It unrooted itself and never rooted again. I turned the lights up and it just declined in health. I put it in the fuge and it died there. Oops... it wasn't improving. I should've just gave it away for free. All this over the span of about 2 1/2 months.

I was actually wondering yesterday if porcelains would host in my hammer coral. Anyone seen this? Or would they irritate the polyps and prevent them from extending?

My hammer is very sensitive. Even out of the norm water patterns make him shrink. My educated guess would be no.
You could still get one though, they will just hang out on the rocks

That's where he'll stay for the most part. Id bet he might go try on some of the other nems, and mushrooms if you have any.
Or last one "Al", lived for 3 or 4 years. He liked to be hand or spot fed.

Our new one is purple much more shy, and doesnt come out.

Thanks! I was worried that he would kill the nem even though they're hardy but all seems good. He is is hanging out under it.

Hahaha so not only has the rock nem embraced the crab but he shed as well! Fun stuff!

Well...should I leave the shed in or take it out?
It won't leech any nutrients will it?
