Porcupine and dogface puffer

Can I add coral or inverts? If so do I start the 75 day fallow period every time something is added ?

Don't add anything wet or it restarts the clock.

I am setting up a small invert and coral qt for this reason.

I tried treating my porcupine puffer with cupramine and had no luck. I was told on here by some knowledgeable people to use coppersafe. I'm gonna start again. Now I have an empty bottom tank. I was gonna do this a few weeks ago but finally doing this. Do you know if I remove carbon for my QT? What about a piece of live rock that I will never use in my DT?

I wouldn't use rock in qt, use pvc or something that doesn't absorb meds.

Carbon needs to be removed as it will remove your medication quickly.

I'm concerned about my 10 gallon QT being too small. I have the porcupine, 2 very small clowns, a flame angel and a starry blenny. Will it be ok with plenty of water changes? Should I just keep an eye on the ammonia?

Bigger is better, but keep up on large water changes of pre mixed water the same temperature and replenish meds perfectly and you'll be alright. Best option is a larger qt but you can make that call

I upgraded my QT to a 30. I got it on offer up for $20 with filter,lid, and light. I feel better now!

Is this a guineafowl? I got him for $19.99 because he has a few white dots on his fin. And I'm just starting a Hospital tank anyway I figured perfect.

Hey so I have my 30 gallon QT tank with cycled water and coppersafe at half dose right now. I want to ramp it up very slow due to puffer being sensitive with copper. So I hear. I tested my water and I'm getting a reading of about 3.0 NirtrIts! That seems odd to me. My ammonia is zero as I did a water change yesterday and my nitrates are about 20.. should I be doing another WC? They are all acting perfectly fine...

Hi, have you tried the chunky LRS food for your puffers?? If not I highly suggest it. They can't keep it in stock around here at my LFS's I got some and it's like crack to them! Ha

Well I treated him with a level of .5 of cupramine for about 5-6 weeks. The physical spots would almost go away then they would be over almost his whole body. Including eyes. I tested my water at least once or twice a day. The thing I did have was substrate in my tank because it was my precious DT that tuned into his hospital tank while I set up my new tank. I was told with substrata it would be hard to maintain the copper levels. It took about a week but even when I had it level no luck

And using coppersafe within a week the spots that have been on his fins for 6 months are completely gone
