Porcupine fish in trouble

I've had my porcupine fish for about 1 year, never any problems. Today the spikes near his face are sticking out. I checked on him a few minutes later, and it looks like one spike broke off and is dangling on his face. Do they grow those back?? Is there anything I can do to save him?? He is my favorite. Someone please help us!!!

Got a pic. They will grow back most of the time. PS reef section probably isn't the best place to post about a puffer

I resent that! I have a porcupine puffer in my mixed reef tank. He is a spoiled baby, gets hand fed twice a day and even head scratches!!!

To the OP, I would not be too worries about a broken spike. The problem although slight would be a bacterial infection.
