porcupine puffer deformed?

We purchased a baby porcupine puffer almost 2 years ago and she has this bulge. She loves to eat, swims almost constantly. Very happy fish in a 220 gallon (8 feet long) tank with near perfect water parameters.

Does anyone know what this bul
ge is?

interesting. I don't know anything about the biology of a puffer but its def unusual. Seems very happy though. Does it inflate?

If she's eating and swimming that's all that matters! Amazing looking puffer! Probably some type of birth defect I've never seen that before in any type of puffer. Just know that all the best fish get remembered Keep us posted and thank you for sharing!

never, just gets very excited when I go into the freezer (at 25 feet away LOL)
