Hey all, I got myself a porcupine puffer around 3 months ago and I’m all is going well but it’s about time to move him from his little 120L holding tank into my 500L display.
I’m worried he will not be able to compete for food with my larger Tangs while he’s still small (around 3-4 inches) and is only really eating prawns, shrimp and the like. I’ve got him eating frozen cubed mysis which i can spread around the tank but he’s a rather shy guy and is mysis okay as the primary part of his diet?

I’ve got a 1500L tank on the way (couple months) and the 120L isn’t handling his bioload well hence the reason I’m apprehensive to keep him where he is.

Any advise on this or generic puffer care would be much appreciated as he’s already become like the family dog [emoji16]

Thanks
Ayrton

Puffers are smart. As long as he is eating he will figure out a way to get food.

You could also throw in the occassional clam on a half shell and he can pick on that.
