So last night my puffer was expected when I walked in the house and fed him today I noticed after I did a 15 gallon water change I noticed he looks sad and when I went feed the fish he was not excited like he is and did not water to eat. I do not see any spots on him like ich or any other sings of sickness. I feed him mysis, Brianshrip and qrill

Did you check your temp and salinity of both new and old water? They are very sensitive to temp and salinity changes.

How long have you had the fish? How long has the tank been set up? Do you quarantine fish?

Both the same. I wonder if it’s just doing a water change he got stressed out?

The tank has been up for 4 months now, I had the puffer for 5 weeks and the lfs I go to had him for 2 month and was very healthy and active and eats anything

Have you checked for ammonia, nitrate, nitrite ? That’s a pretty young tank yet.

Porcupine Puffers are my favorite but are very easily stressed, and one of the most sensitive puffers in my opinion.

I’ll see how he does tomorrow. Because yesterday he was normal, and today I did a water change and he’s acting not his self

I highly suspect a parasite. Op, can you see any small spots if you look closely? Fast breathing?

Porcupine puffers are an overall sensitive fish, unfortunately.
