Hello. I'm planning to get live rocks to start my tank. I'm trying to decide to either go with KP or TBS live rocks. From what I understand, porous rocks are better for beneficial bacteria and are lighter, if I'm not mistaken. Is there any other differences between porous and dense rocks?

Porous allows more holes for bacteria to live as there's more surface space so I would go with the porous rock

'surface area' is more important than 'heavy', therefore porous rocks are preferred.

heavy rock would also be unnecessary as it just adds more weight to the tank. at least the porous rock should be lighter in theory and have more room from good bacteria and microfauna.
