:squigglemouth:I got a frag of these from Elite Reefs and they are growing, but have never colored up. I have them in the top 1/2 of the tank under a 150w MH--is this too much light?

i got mine yesterday, and while they are healthy, and there are a TON of them ( ), they aren't like on the picture in the add (which isn't a real surprise, having bought stuff online before). did yours color up like the ones in the pic's?

i mean, not that they are like way off, or anything. just not like in the pic's.

I have a frag thats growing out right now, since 9/5/08. It started out with 3 and now I have 4 w/2 babies on it. Reef-lover let it grow and I'll send you some.

I got mine from sr71 he had his high light med flow, mine are mid tank, med flow. 150w 20000k lighting. They like to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it seems to be very tank dependant as well as lighting. i keep them under 400 watt radium bulbs which is what gives them there best color. i have some in a tank that has a 14k 150 halide and they seem to lose a good some of the color but growth speeds up. the brightest ones i have by far as the ones at the bottom of the tank with the radiums.

if you look aruond the net you will find some pics that are dull and and not very bright and others that look just like mine if not even better. all different lighting for the most part i think.

It's an all actinic shot with adjustment for the blue. I was trying to capture the flouresence in the palys.

I had them in my zero edge, which is a shallow tank, under a 250 watt 20k bulb. They didn't seem to be coloring up or growing, so I moved them to the Solana near the top under a 150 watt 14k Phoenix. That tank has a lot more flow and they are now growing, but no change in color. I'll move them into a high flow area lower in the tank.

btw, i wasn't saying anything bad about elitereefs. i'm very happy with my frag pack.

i've bought several frags that didn't look exactly like they were advertised or what they were supposed to be, only to color up later. i was just curious as to how they colored up with different placements, and which would be the best for me

Don't have photo shop just used the color balance to take out the blue it's the photo program on the computer. I don't have photo skills.
