Hi,
I was checking out my tank when I noticed a pair of 'feathery looking antennae' sticking out of a rock.. I was looking at it through a magnifying glass and saw what appeared to be something shrimp like with elongated eyes(it appears to be less than an inch) ... I took a video and, while it is not the best and it really didn't come out much, you can at least make out the antennae.. The rock came from Indonesia.. Thanks for any help!

I am thinking yes myself... just wondering if anyone knows what kind he might be... if he is not a threat to my fish, i will leave him be...
p.s.-- i apoligize for my quick typing and spelling error in the title

I would think that any mantis would be a threat... I'd get him out and either sell it or set up a dedicated mantis tank.

Mantis shrimp have the most advanced eyes in the animal kingdom. Google one and then compare. I cant see from the video. They shouldn't be trusted however to be a good tank mate. there are success stories, but...
They are really really neat animals.

Can't Id without seeing the whole animal. Unless you are OK with possibly coming home to find a tankmate injured or dead I wouldn't leave it. They will defend their homes even if we'll fed.
