I have a wall hammer where the end pieces are coming off the skeleton. Is there any way to save this? Should I cut off the tissue that is hanging off?

I saved one once by wrapping a tight rubber band around it between the healthy flesh and dieing flesh. It worked for me. Also I think an iodine dip like lugol's is what people use but research that for yourself as I've never tried it

I was just recently able to save one that came in with brown slime disease.

First thing I did was dipped it in a solution of revive. I also took a turkey baster, and sprayed all the dying tissue out of the skeleton. I figured it was going to die if I did nothing, so I squirted it as hard as I could to get as much of the dead tissue out. Then with my bandsaw, I cut the dead portion of skeleton, and made sure to cut into the healthy flash to remove all Dead/dying flesh. After making the cuts on the bandsaw, I took super glue and superglued all of the flesh that I cut, and I made sure to squirt a little bit of the glue into the skeleton.

It has been doing great ever Since

Thanks for the advice. So far I have dipped in iodine then turned the flow really low and the hammer opened up really nicely (minus the part hanging off of course). I haven’t seen any brown jelly yet (fingers crossed for none. The flesh hanging off looked like it was starting to open up a little bit this morning too, which was weird.

Ended up losing this piece. Cut off the bad area then it Started with brown jelly on Monday. I used a baster to clean it off and then let it sit in an iodine bath. Plugged the side up with glue where most of the jelly had been. Then this morning it was opening up in the tank. It started closing up about 7 and then I checked on it again an hour later and could see a little brown jelly, so I pulled it out of the tank. Hoping i got it out before it spread to any other LPS
