Currently dose kalk in my 5gal ATO. (10tbsp) and was looking into possibly dosing BRS 2 part. Was wandering if it was a good idea and also should i continue to add kalk to ATO i dosing 2 part?

I might also add, though I am also a huge BRS supporter/customer, I have found, for my situation, that Red Sea's Reef Foundation (A/B/C liquid) has worked out better. Pricier, but something to consider.

Do a test of all three levels and you can use BRS's calculator to determine a good base dosage and continue to test/adjust dosing from there. Took me a good 3 weeks before my levels were consistently what I wanted with routine weekly 10% water changes in the mix.

Red Sea puts their recommendations on the bottle based on current tested levels.

Yeah used Red Sea to start but def pricer. That’s why I went BRS. What doser you use?

Coral Box. It has 4 heads and is wifi controlled. Other than my first one being a lemon, I like it. Easy to control on the phone application and took about a half hour to calibrate all 4 heads.

Cool never heard of that one. Where’s best place to get one?

Not sure what your system is, but I have a nano tank (~15 gallons total volume) and I've managed to get away with a single BRS dosing pump for Alkalinity (I use Red Sea, but don't really have a preference). I then dose calcium manually twice a week. My salt mix (Red Sea Coral Pro, ~20% every two weeks) seems to handle my magnesium need, entirely.

I did some thinking about this and here's my rationale:

My tank consumes about 0.6 dKH per day. Since I keep my Alk at about 9.0 that represents almost a 7% drop per day.

By contrast, the tank consumes about 5ppm of Calcium per day. Since I keep my Calcium at about 450 this represents just over a 1% drop per day.

That's why I does Alk daily and only dose Ca twice a week. This way my biggest Alk swing during the week is only about 7% and the biggest Ca swing is only about 4% (1% per day * 4 days). Considering everything I'm using is "hobby grade" (dosing pump, test kits, foundation element solutions, etc.) I think this is more than stable enough.
