I have something on my acan and I'm not sure what it is. When the acan is expanded i can't see it and I can't get a clear pic, but i did my best. It's the thing in the middle that looks like its covered in sand, atleast to me it does. At first I Thought vermitid but now I'm not sure.

To me it looks like the polyp died once and is starting to grow back in over its own skeleton. Might be sand and detritus sitting in that cavity. Any way looks like you can remove the coral from your tank and clean it out.

Start with a turkey baster try to water blast it out. If it’s loose and won’t come out try tweezers. Hope this is all it is.

I'll try pulling it out and blowing it off. The other heads dont seem affected by it.

You see any movement? Could be a gall crab.

It never moves from that spot. Most i have ever seen is some filaments coming out of it which is why I origionally thought vermitid

I finally got a chance to pull the acan out and look closer at it today. I wasn't able to really blow anything off of it and it is defiantly hard. I never saw any pinchers/claws. I was able to get a few pics of the spot out of the water. Currently finishing rinsing for a Bayer dip. Figured it couldnt hurt.
