Possible airborn cross contaminated

Hi my qt is less then 1 ft from my Sump here is a picture please let me know what u think. I have a caurgated plastic cover and schild on the qt tanks.

Don't quote me on this but I think I've read that most people recommend at least 10 feet distance between the 2. Preferably different rooms.

I think you should be fine. In general it’s recommended to keep the distance 10ft. More importantly, I believe, it’s making sure not to use the same equipment on both tanks. Airborne transmission of ich, while documented, has not been sufficiently investigated IMO.

In the one study I’ve read it was unclear whether the lab followed proper biosafety protocols. If it were such a common occurrence my sense is that no wholesaler or large retailer would ever have a healthy fish. I’m a bit of a skeptic on this, I’m sure you will get other good opinions.

I do observe the 10ft rule but if you don’t have strong air movement I think you’d probably be ok.

I would not keep a qt tank that close to my sump. Even if aerosol transmission were not a consideration the risk of droplets splashing would be more risk than I would be comfortable with.
