Hi I recently bought some live rock and corals from a nearby Petco that looks to be in good shape. However, today I noticed some polyp/anemone looking growths In several spots. They’re very subtle and translucent.

When I turn the lights off and on, they retract and slowly come back out. I’m not sure what they are exactly but they might just be the dreaded aptasia I have heard about. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

They might just be Feather Dusters because they do have a tube that they retract into. Still looking into it.

Aiptasia isn't the end of the world. I wouldn't even put it in my top 5 pest list. Annoying yes, but there are several methods of control.

Hard to say from the picture if it is aiptasia

Those would be Aiptasia for sure
I find lysmsta Wurdemani shrimp and copper and butterfly’s are the natural way to rid your tank of these pests. Aiptasia x also works but not 100%. Good luck

They’re very tiny and transparent so it’s hard to get a good picture, but they do have a visible tube that they go in and out of. I’m thinking feather duster now.

Really hard to see on the pictures, for me anyway LOL! Maybe circle what you have?

Thanks for the reply, being that the tank is a pico 2.5g I’d rather not put copper and other harsh additives but in a bigger tank I probably could.

I have never seen aiptaisia with a tube. My money is on feather duster.

This is the best I can do, as you see next to the frag plug they’re very small. Pretty sure now they’re feather dusters.
