I bought a few trochus snails a couple of months ago and think they are breeding. The picture is 8x zoom. Close up with the naked eye it looks like a white dot, similar to a pod in size and color. What do you guys think?

How can you guys be so certain that they are Collonista rather than baby standard Trochus? Do baby Trochus tend to be larger? Is there something anatomical you see in the pic? Either way I am happy to have a breeding group of snails. Prior to adding trochus snails I had no clean up crew for one year. Reason I bought Trochus snails over other ones was because of the possibility of them breeding. Hate the idea of just having snails die and buying more every year or so. Sustainable breeding population makes it feel more like a real ecosystem.

I cant from your photo, just making an accurate stab in the dark lol.

Baby Trochus have a straighter shell collonista are rounded.

Does it look like this

I don't have any large snails that look like the first picture, but do have ones that look like the latter. I have quite a few babies in the sump as well, but they are literally just white dots at this point. Can't really see any features on the shell yet. Will watch how the look as they develop. Appreciate posting this pic, will help me make a more accurate identification as they grow.

Collonista prefer the darker areas and are active at night. I see my 200 strong Collonista Army first thing in the morning.
