Can someone please help id this for me. Our hippo tang has had some black spots appear on his body. He is eating great but has started flashing on the sand a bit. He also swims up and down the glass on the left side of the tank for about 5 minutes or so each time. This has been going on for about 5 days. We recently had issues with some of our livestock that we thought might be ich. We tore the tank apart to get all fish out and into quarantine. I was going to treat with cupramine but I didn't have the proper test kit. I decided to just watch and feed well. Within 2 days all fish were fine. We ended up doing a 100% water change on the dt and cleaning all the sand thoroughly. We kept the fish in quarantine to make sure all levels in the dt were good. Moved the fish back and things were good until 5 days ago when we saw black spots on the hippo tang. No other fish have been acting differently. I've tried for days to get a clearer picture but he's pretty quick. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like black ich from what I can see. A freshwater dip would confirm that. You can dose prazipro in the display fairly safely. You would have to watch out for any feather dusters (mine didn't have any problems with it) and bristleworm die-off (again i didn't have a problem with this either). You'll do two doses of prazi 1st dose, wait 5-7 days, perform a water change, then do 2nd dose same day as water change.
